No need to worry about interlace until you're doing the last polishing of the set's performance. It won't interact with geometry or anything else.
The tuner is probably a bought-in unit (possibly made by Cyldon - I'm not familiar with the set) made down to a price. Or is the tuner's HT sent via the co-ax?
PS: I've just looked up the set. Trader 1454. The tuner is a Fireball (another common make) and the HT supply isn't via the co-ax. With luck the choke will have survived. The 1K resistor to HT (R95 on the Trader sheet, will be different if you have the manufacturer's service data) will be nicely black and crispy.
