Thanks for that Jeffrey. When the time comes I'll revisit the interlacing. In the meantime, I've just taken two steps backward, as I didn't notice, when reinstalling the tuner following cleaning, that the centre core insulation of the output coax had become crunchy and shorted out to the braid. This resulted in a smoked resistor, a possibly smoked choke, and maybe other damage. Talk about dodgy design decisions! Why on earth didn't they put the output coupling cap in the tuner instead of on the IF board? Grrr!
