That's apparently a 64-pin LQFP package, so not it. Also these where offered to me in 1998 when the company I was working with was clearing out a place they were moving into. USB 2.0 was released in April 2000
I suspect VIC-001-C is a "house" code and 8812 might be 1988 week 12?
Thanks for looking. I'll not bin them yet just in case. The clear-out included a load of high power Schottky TO220 rectifiers, some small heatsinks and 22uF 35 V metal can tantalum caps, a vast quantity of 1/8th watt leaded resistors, but not many values, among other parts. Still using the 1k resistors, dual Schottky rectifiers and 22uF caps. And the unwanted big desk fan.
