Lucien was indeed amazing. As I've probably said before, I first met him at Dulwich when he was 14. His parents were amazing too. Alex died three years ago, Jenny is still here, in her late 80s. She's coming to us for lunch on Saturday. Lucien seemed to be busy 24+ hours per day and 7+ days per week. His day job was in the film industry latterly specialising in video assist and latterly rushes for prestige films such as Dunkirk where he worked very closely with Christopher Nolan. He inspired loyalty and gave much help to younger colleagues.
I was one of his early mentors and as is so often the case he soared high. But too near the sun and crashed to earth far too soon.
