The war stopped the development of television in the social dimension, but technological development was strangely intensified. Military solutions are often adapted to the needs of civilian life. New early post-war TV receivers /1946/ such as PYE B16T or RCA 621TS in the US are already new designs compared to models from the 1930s. Personally, I believe that television could only develop thanks to the reduction in device prices. New technological solutions were subordinated to this - reducing the number of valves, no mains transformer, small picture tube, thin chassis, small dimensions of devices facilitating transport and sale.
