Some of you may know I've been in Israel for the last week or so.
I saw this radio in a shop in the flea market in Jaffa. Does anyone know anything about it? I wonder if it was locally made or an adaptation of a European design. I didn't ask the price and wasn't tempted to drag it home with me. The same shop had a variety of sets including a cream DAC90A. Didn't see if was the export version. Also a cute little Philips bakelite set with a dial glass that stood proud of the set. I was almost tempted by that as I could probably have squeezed it in my hand luggage.
Shavit is a fairly common name in Israel, it means "Comet". Searching for Shavit radios isn't easy as there are lots of unwanted results relating to other people and the Israeli rocket of that name that can launch a satellite into orbit. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shavit
