Frustration!

Hi All,
The dial cord on this radio has me stumped! Its not the fitting of it but that the drum appears to be out of line by almost 180 degrees from where it should be. I have the info regarding refitting the cord but it just doesn't appear correct, even when comparing to the other VHF90s I have. However, it does not appear to have been tinkered with at all.

Any help most welcome.

Hi Rob, I have no experience with these sets but make an alignment mark on the tuning gang spindle and the dial drum bush for reference, then slacken off and orientate as per manual with gang fully closed and see if it works out.

That looks as per manual Joe, Robs looks definately out for whatever reason.

Thanks for the pic - I'll give it a try. I've re thread it now so I can only assume that if the air cap is in the same position as yours with the dial pointer attached in the same way also, it should be correct (big assumption here!).

It's usually the arrangement of the dial cord itself that causes me the biggest headaches - especially wire drive cords (as Philips and Eddystone are so fond of using): a real finger-slicer is such an arrangement! The very next time I meet one, before I start, I am going to buy myself a chain-mail glove!
