Well the things you can learn on these Forums. Never would have thought; it so semi porous rubber: the bike tyre inner tube is a good comparison.

A genuine New one came today, sealed in a plastic bag with two batteries in another sealed compartment.  Had the made in China sticker on it as well.

Different again to the one they sent before which my Lady said is "no better than the old one".  Cost me a tenner this time as it was a second replacement according to them.  In reality that was just rubbish.

So asked for my tenner back as a point of principle.  Will I get it? who knows? its all electronic messaging systems now.  Do any humans actually work there?  Bet they do if you are taking out a new contract  .

I did get my tenner back and I still have the previous one. So I can try the washing method described here.

Are there any tips for getting the case apart without marking the plastic? Fits unbelievably well ...

Used this stuff : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bare-Conductive...00CSMDT8S/ to repair a Sound Bar remote control that had a cotton bud and alcohol used on the Mute button which ruined it. Worked fine.
