If you like technology for its own sake, that's fine. I'd rather concentrate on the end product. Here's a shot of what gets me up in the morning, a chance to create something relatively permanent, at a local historic house:

The large stones at the bottom were already there; the rest disappeared about 1910 into the rock crusher when the road was paved. The stone at the extreme left, I put up yesterday, about 500 lbs (tripod crane and chain hoist did the heavy lifting. I did build the crane myself since I couldn't buy what I wanted).
