rewiring Avo two panel tester

Hi All,
I'm rewiring the cable between the valve holder unit and the tester panel. What ampage of cable would you recommend?

I've just got one. There's a couple of wires off at the Valve Base end. Actually there were two but now, after I've been trying to figure it out, there's 4
This has, I believe, an original Cable. The Meter Date is 1946 I think.
The cable is as shown here:-

   

The Wires in the Cable are very thin and are sleeved in the Picture. I believe it's original, and the thin Wires are the reason they've broken off.
I've collected some information from the net. There's a redrawn copy of what purports to be the original AVO Drawing, but I don't think it's accurate.
The Files on VMARS are much more believable, but no Colours are shown.
I'm proposing to follow the VMARS Version and work out the connections myself.

Feel free to Post anything you discover 'cause you're bound to be faster than me at the moment.

Was there ever a cable clamp fitted Alan?

I don't think so, at least I can't find any evidence.
There's a slot in the outer Steel case and a very tight Grommet.
It's slightly odd really because that's the end you'd have to take to bits to add extra Sockets, and one, a B9A, seems to have been added to mine.

With a magnifying glass you might be able to identify the tags with the remains of the snapped off wires.

Colour code out of the window for the B9A mod then?

Doh,
My fault guys for not 'righting' in our native tongue (absolutely shocking for a person who has a string of letters after his name!!!).

I actually meant the wiring for the 9 pin connector plug lead that connects the valve base panel (whole unit with the selectors switches) to the tester panel (with the meter etc).
The original fabric wound lead is absolutely shot and failling apart.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about.
This is the Plug end:-

       

The Wires are very thin as I said above.
Do you want me to measure one?
Short of using 45G I don't think you'll have any problems.
The Connections are in the VMARS Diagrams although there's no Colours or Numbers.

The B9A is wired up with what looks like 1950s clear insulated Bell Flex, very neatly done though.

By the way, inside the Plug the two thicker Black wires are I believe the Heater Wires, although I haven't verified that.

Rob, the manual as per VMARS shows the valve tester earthed, so far as I can make out the earth is connected to line C as per the 9 pin plug/socket, I would have thought that line is also connected to the chassis/cabinet.
