Aviation Instruments

I've been collecting old aviation instruments for a while now. I see if I can make them do what they are meant to do. On some this is not trivial if they use odd sensors which need to be simulated. Here is a photo showing some:

   

I've not had a new one for a few weeks now ...
Should I have posted in the hoarders thread? it feels like it sometimes.

Hi David, also one of my collections, do you have any 3 phase inverters to run them with?
The sensor inputs are often V. A R types but can be horribly non linear.

If you get to Rufforth at all we could meet up

Hi David, boot sale most Sundays but 1st Sat of month an Autojumble/ general mech junk, tools etc.

Oh that Rufforth, Ed
I used to go every now and then. to get bike parts and have a look at the junk etc.
Last saturday I nipped out to the shops in the morning and somebody pipped their horn by the road crossing. When I got home a friend with a bike messaged me to say it was them on their way to Rufforth. I thought I should go next time, I usually go to the local computer museum at Fimber to help out or Dalby forest for a Parkrun on saturday mornings but Rufforth is beckoning. I visited the local traction engine rally today and found somebody exhibiting old aircraft instruments, this radio flight guiding received looks interesting and probably quite early of its kind. The owner knew little about it apart from that it has two lamps to help guide the operator, some investigation is warranted. There is a tiny baseless valve in the RF compartment.  The other notable event was when the man showing me his home made meths camping cooker nearly set his stall alight.

That little valve looks like a diode to me, but might be wrong.
Some VERY nice knobs on the front too!!.
Pity about the broken variable resistor.

Hi David, there were several early blind landing aids and they may have some detail on them in the Sunderland air museum.

You couls also try contacting James in Newcastle on the other forum, I believe he restored one of the early units
