The something similar TK18 also 5 other reel-to-reel machines.

Limerick is a bit far from Leicestershire.
Likely faults: Paper caps leaky (though they might not look like either Hunts or Waxies). Selenium bridge rectifier should be replaced. You might want an extra 100 Ohm 2.5W in series from a silicon bridge. There might be either wear or rubber gone too hard on some rotating parts. Likely uses wheels rather than belts. Some grease may have hardened, so oil might be needed. Poor contacts on the rec/play switch. Wiggling it seems to usually work as the contacts wipe & self clean. Unlike the older round magic eyes, the EM84 will likely be OK (used to meter recording level).
