Toshiba Portege 3490

Hi All
After much moans from my better half I have decided to clear out a lot of stuff that I have hung on to as I have thought that 'its to good to throw away'. As such I really dont know what to do with an old Toshiba portege 3490 with a pentium 3 processor. Its still works and has a really super display BUT it has limited ram and wont run much beyond windows 2000 albeit slowly. Is it truly a bin job now - I hate to just throw these things away.

I have an old Toshiba laptop (800MHz, 320MB). I run Puppy Linux on it. In fact I multiboot five different flavours just because I like different ones. Fairly easy to get used to even if you've not used Linux before. You can install it in various ways. You can test them by booting from a cd/dvd or even a flash drive if your hardware supports this. You'll find a version that you like and that suits your hardware .

Agreed about Linux.
I use the latest versions of mint (Sonia) on my recent laptop, Cinnamon, and Mate 32 bit in the shed which is an old PC with no issues.
