Fitting a Garrard 2025 Deck inplace of a BSR C137 - possible?

Related to my thread on BSR Deck faults, to answer my own question, I think this swap can be performed, since the decks are the same physical size, the only problems being that the transit screws on a Garrard deck are in different locations to those on a BSR one, as are the number, size and location of suspension springs. Perhaps I should have worded my question 'Fitting, etc...difficult?! I guess the exsisting motor board could be modified to accept a Garrard Deck, but no doubt a new board would be better!!

I fear that the usual thing is a new Motorboard with the right cutouts. If it's just a chunk of Ply, and they usually are, it's not too difficult provided the existing one isn't glued in.

The faulty deck in question was in a Bush stereo record player made in the early 70s, in which the mounting 'board' for the deck is actually a plastic moulding. in the end I obtained a working BSR C129 deck from a member of UKVRRR, which is basically a 'drop-in' replacement, other than swapping the pickup leads for a pair terminated in RCA plugs.
Much easier! The Garrard deck has been fitted in an early 1960s Readers Digest Stereo record player instead, where it looks quite at home since the RD player has a black rexine (or similar0covered T/T base board.
