I recently aquired another new GDR11.On the second day it wouldnt come on and i found the fuse in the plug had blown so i replaced it the same again happend the following day.
I have spoken to the seller who is prepaird to give a refund but dose anyone know why this has happend.is there a known problem on these?
Our origanal one from the switch over scheme has given us no trouble .

We had one of these at work, same model, worked ok for just over a year and then went poof. Subsequent inspection found the internal smps burnt in several places. Came to the conclusion that they are built to a cheap price with cheap parts and a limited operating life span.

Stuck a Bush model in it's place, only marginally better but PSU is in socket, not in box.

Our origamal one is now 2years old and is ok but needed another hence thought they were reliable.

What size fuse should be in the plug as the one that was in was a 13amp

13 amp fuses are only meant for badly wired plugs.
They go bang louder so that the hard of hearing will also know that it had detonated.

Ive been given a refund on this freeview box although the seller hasnt asked for it to be returned.
What orther good ones are there .As with haveing several old tv we need to have one per set .I have notice with this model of goodmans we get a spurious background noise when haveing to use the rf in/out This isnt there when connected to another set with a scart socket .
Whilst this noise is not a real issue with me my mum has a radio link to her hearing loop so it picks up this noise and amplifys it.
