Elpico Record Player - Is a PCL82 the Correct Valve?

Most Elpicos seem to use an ECL83 and ECC83, - the only one I can find that uses the PCL80 is indeed the RP590 Joe, which uses a metal rectifier and two stage PCL82 amplifier. See circuit below.

Although there's no model No. on the player it is evidently an RP590.
As I suspected the TC8 cartridge is u/s, the amp. is working, though I may replace the rectifier with a 1N4007 & series resistor. As to a replacement cartridge I will probably fit a BSR SC12m or 12H - I have a couple somewhere, but don't think I have the clip to go with them

Further to the above, I have now replaced the TC8 Cartridge with an Adastra D6 (BSR SC11M Clone) from A-V-A-on line (under £12 inc. P&P btw) and 'that' capacitor.
Electronically the machine is now working well, but there are the usual mechanical issues due to hardened grease. Trouble is I cannot see how to remove the mechanism, since the motor board appears to be glued in place. It won't budge, even after removing the four wood screws which, in theory, are what holds it in place, and, without being able to lift up the motor board I can see to way to get at the rear L.H. transit screw securing clip. With other record players, as most will know, it's a simple matter to remove the motor board, then release the transit screws, not with this one!

To follow up on my post #12 above, I never could get the motor board out of the cabinet. Didn't want to use too much force for fear of breaking the woodwork! As a consequence, because I couldn't reach the rear transit screw to release it's clip, I was unable to carry out a degrease/re-lubrication of the mechanism, which meant that, although the player sounded very good, it's auto-change functions weren't fully functional. For one thing the 'Magidisc' size selector was stuck in the 12" position, so other size records must be played manually. Anyhow the owner accepted that these problems couldn't be rectified, and took it back 'as is'
Why-oh-why did someone glue the motor board in place? The answer will never be known!
