Something a bit different for a change, and quite rare for a bush set I believe.
I have been Dabbling with this on and off for the last two weeks, but made the most progress tonight.
Instead of a "scattergun" approach to this, I spent some time checking components, and not changing willy nilly just for the sake of it, as it had seen some work before, in the end, I only had to change one leaky "condenser" shown in one of the pictures.
A little bit of a clean to the chassis which took about an hour was the other only thing the set needed, it works really well now, just needing a final tweak to the IF coils.
The cabinet was a different matter, it had a few scuffs, and the top was already stripped, so someone had already started on the job, but the bush logo was still virtually intact, and I was adamant it was going to remain this way.
Tonight I put my efforts into the cabinet, stripping the front and sides, then on to the finish, this is the second shellac attempt I have made, and it seemed a lot easier than the first, I am getting a feel for it , and getting used to how much to apply, and how much to apply in one coat.
I will post some more pictures of the set when it is finished, possibly tomorrow,
I can see this radio getting quite a bit of use when finished.
