I recently ran a couple of threads here on circuits for a battery eliminator: 2v and 120v for a typical battery-powered 'woodie' vintage wireless. Those two parts have now come together in what is very nearly the finished article: photos. attached.

Three power resistors in the 120-v. 'regulator' ran too hot for comfort
- especially as they were mounted below 'chassis'. So they were re-located above, and positioned between the fins on the heat-sink that houses the 2N3055 for the 2-v. regulator. In the photos. they are connected to the yellow and white wires. The real cause of this excessive heat is simply because the voltage from the transformer is too high - but it was the only transformer I had which came near to being adequate for the purpose.
Anyway, this item has now had a substantial soak test, off-load and connected to a Pye 62A - and no problems resulted.
