Bush VHF62 & 72 sets

Hi All,
In discussion with a fellow forum member. Kevin Hoyland, I have discovered the above sets which I wasn't aware that Bush had produced.
These appear to be (and I'm sure that these are not!) lesser versions of the VHF64 and 94 in so much that they use electrostatic speakers.
Does any have info about them and there history etc.

Thanks Kev, SWMBO indicated today that I'll be buying at least another 2 sets but I have been told that they will NOT be allowed out of my 'den' (which is a box room) so I really do think that I shall be wearing them.

Hello Rob.
The VHF 62 came out in 1956 and the VHF72 came out in 1958 a good year to say i am 53. The VHF 72 has 1 less button than the VHF 62. This is because the gram-input has been omitted. But as Steve P says a good sounding radio.

Hi Rob,

Here is what I know..... (I think):-/

The VHF72 is pretty much the same as the VHF71, the 72 as you say has an electrostatic tweeter, the VHF71 does not.

The same applies with the VHF62 and 61 I believe, in fact all four sets look nearly identical, the VHF61 & 62
use a mains isolation tranny and employ 'E' series valves where as the 71 & 72 use an AC/DC chassis employing
'U' series valves.

I myself have a VHF71 and it sounds great
