Err, sorry, no, Lawrence, but I am intrigued by your enquiry.
Is it that you know someone there who is an SWL or that you, yourself, are the SWL and, in turn, know of a transmitting source there that you wish to monitor?
Hello Al, I do DX SWL when I can and was wondering about reception of transmissions from that area these days if there are any, the last time I heard anyone from there was back in the 80's I have not done any SWL at all since then until fairly recently when I took up SWL again.
A quick look on the 'Net seems to imply that the Falklands is just another of those far away remote spots that doesn't seem to feature any regular residents who are Amateur Radio operators, only visitors who go there for a DX-pedition. There was an active Amateur Radio operator there during the Falklands / Argentina crisis*, (again, you can read all about it on the 'Net) but all of that is now long gone.
As for domestic broadcasting, I don't know of any transmitting stations there, but I doubt if there are any. Probably are navigation and ship/shore facilities though.
*Who, incidentally, after he returned to the U.K., I sold an AVO model 7 to.
Thanks for the input and information Al, he could have been the the one I listened to back then, I remember that I was taken a back on the reception as it was on a homebrew 2/3 valve direct conversion receiver I had knocked up around that time and the injection oscillator was my then trusty old Avo All Wave generator instead of a proper bandspread VFO, those were the days...

Al.
And who I bought my first valve set off of! Nice chap, I knew of his bravery but didn't have the chance to talk to him properly about his experiences when I met him.
Yep, being military history-minded I was just as keen to meet him as I was to pick the radio up. Brave chap, could have been caught and summarily shot at any time.
