These were halogen which were a pain to change as you musnt touch the glass. Later I found LED replacements G4 from China (alas).

12V at 2W. Its not often we see the inside components so I thought the pictures might be of interest To me its amazing miniaturisation.

Moulded in a clear 'rubber'.

It is indeed Gary.
The issue with touching halogen lamp glass is oils from the skin can give uneven temperatures on the glass envelope and the glass cracks. If you do a wipe with 99% IPA will remove the contamination.

The only snags I can think of:

1: If it's in a position that gets hot due to cooking then a LED will have a short life
2: When replacing 12V halogens with LEDs the MINIMUM loading of an electronic 12V supply may matter. I've found this when repalcing 50W 12V halogens. with LEDs
