The set duly arrived on Saturday. It's a very heavy set for its physical size. Taking the back off it looks like Brian Cuff did an immaculate restoration job on the electronics. A couple of aluminium brackets look as if they were made from scratch. Brian also made a perspex cover fitted over some hazardous looking circuitry. The mains lead was safely stowed inside the set. No evidence of service data.
Cosmetically it's not quite so good. The dial glass is intact but with some wear. Not worth trying to re-screen unless attempting a concours grade restoration. The cabinet has clearly seen a fair bit of the world. There are a few dings but nothing I can't accept. There are 4 filled holes on the left side where I suspect a Band III conversion was installed. The dial glass bezel has a few cracks which have been mended but not 100% accurately. The back has broken into 2 parts. Otherwise it's not bad so I reckon I'll glue some thin hardboard across inside the set and drill it to match the existing holes.
The aerial input is 75R balanced. With ample signal available from an Aurora there's no need to use a balun. A simple cable from F or B&L to wander plugs will do the job.
No service data with the set. As far as I can see, it's not on a Trader sheet or in the R&TVS red books. Jon Evan's invaluable website has the manufacturer's service manual available for free download.
