In that French document many parameters have quite lax tolerances. By contrast, the line sync width is 16% of the total line with a tolerance of 1% of the total line. So around +/-1us. Relatively tight.

Interesting read indeed. David mentioned the 385 active lines and I was toying with altering the modeline to 385 rather than 377 on the PC generated 405 Lines but now I don't think I will bother.
