One of my 2 gang dimmer switched packed up the other day, so I decided to take the plunge and get some LED bulbs to replace the incandescent ones. Also new duel purpose dimmer switches, you know the LED or Incandescent bulb types..
The dimmable LED bulbs give out a lot of light. I would say the 8 watt ones are easily equivalent to 60 to 100w bulb.
And the colour of the light is very acceptable similar to a normal bulb.
I decided to take apart the old dimmer switch with the view to salvaging the parts.
I was surprised when I was measuring the potentiometer that was fitted, I couldn't get any sensible readings.
So I dismantled the one with the faulty switch, and was surprised at the tracks on the pot.
