My introduction to 2 way radio was the WS19, C12 (I think) and battery devouring WS88 in a pair of ammunition pouches at school. I sold an FT101ZD (earlier version without WARC added bands) and nearly bought a 19 set out of nostalgia, but for less money I bought a completely full of options FT101ZD MkIII with WARC update. It needed a tiny bit of work on the PSU. Fortunately I checked before powering the heaters as the grid bias to 6146s was missing. I always thought it a shame that they were just in parallel, rather than push-pull, which reduces some harmonics. Earliest sets in the series used a pair of TV line drive valves. Maybe a Swan did too; certainly I remember repairing a Swan that used the beam switching valve as mixer (I think a 7360 see article). The audio o/p transformer gone due to leaky grid cap. I replaced it with a larger wattage mains transformer, which works for lower current / power class A if big enough not to saturate and a cheap laminated not toriod. Of course DC saturation current no issue for push-pull.
