I've found that it either needs a router or a plane. Too brittle for teeth, although I've not tried it on my Bosh mitre saw - this does a good job of everything else I've thrown at it (80T blade), so perhaps it'll be ok with laminate.
Despite living here for around 7 years, I've not found a decent local supplier of hardwood. No shortage of Jewsons/Travis Perkins places (which I don't really enjoy, knowing they're charging me double what the builders pay), of course...
All my hardwood comes from work, but I think I've probably had it all by now. And of course, re-using wood is a time-consuming task.
I think that a thickness planer will be my next purchase, although I'm really tight for space here :-(
