For those who have the facilities, something you may want to have a go at catching.

You may have read there is a Russian Navy battle group working in the Med right now led by the 'Admiral Kusnetsov'. The battle group have been broadcasting regularly on 8345 and 12464 CW with occasional voice transmission. Black Sea Fleet HQ is also sending voice weather broadcasts and flash traffic on 10543. You may also get something (ship-to-ship, data TX) on 7748.5 and 7861.

Time to fire up the Fairey Swordfish in case they come home up the Channel.

Thanks Andrew - I'll have a listen 'round. The aerial here seems to favour a south to south-east direction & at those distances, so may be in with a chance.
Have you heard anything on those freqs. ?

Hi Al,

Yes I have on the two main frequencies (8345/12464). Sometimes very strong. Obviously it needs decoding and it's in Russian so the fun is in finding it rather than in the listening.

They should be coming back this way soon, after popping by Syria, so we should stand a better chance.
