SSB Allocation for all???

Hi, has anyone heard of this ssb allocation, here is a piece from another forum this could be interesting if true......




But there is a spark of hope for those
interested, as some form of SSB allocation is due to be released
in the UK in the Autumn. The rest of the CEPT countries got an
allocation last year, but there is some delay in the UK ratifying it, -
no change there then!
I believe it's basically the old 'naughty forty' block from 26965kHz
to 27405kHz, so it should be well packed with EU FM stations ... regards Alan

Presumably that new allocation refers to CB radio?

Hi Al, it would appear to be CB but it covers morse ssb also, so it must be perhaps an AM bands allocation....regards....Alan.

Morse too, eh? Somehow I can't see that being exclusively for CB then - but I could be wrong of course. Reading what has been said above, it looks like an 'all-mode' affair: ssb, AM, FM, Morse - everything; strange. I'll have to have a look around the 'Net - including OfCom - to see what I can unearth.

Hi Alan,
Thanks. However, unless I blinked at exactly the wrong moment, I didn't see any reference to the freq. band 26965 → 27405 MHz in that. I did see a reference to the 12 m. band, 24890 → 25990 MHz, but that is something different.

I had a look around OfCom's Web Site for info. about this: could find nothing.
